Large part shipping

I have a project Toyota that I'm working on with a thread up in the Build Up section. Progress is slow but I'm moving along. I'm at the point now where I need to find a bed for the truck. All of my leads on a bed within driving distance have crapped out. Would it be worth it to look farther away and have one shipped to me or would the shipping cost make it not worth it?

I had a bed shipped one time and it was $600. That was my experience. It was from California to Missouri.

Was that the total cost or just for shipping?

Just shipping. I still had to buy the bed for $250. I had $850 total. It was the Downey Bed from a Off Road company that went out of business. I hear there is a company that will ship things at a better rate if in no hurry. I think the name is something like UShip or something like that.

ABF upack. They'll rent trailer space by the linear foot. They have bulkheads but it's still shared shipping and your goods will be left in the trailer untill every one that loads after you removes thier load, so no shipping pallets of gold with out covers.

Unless you need an auto hauler the freight rates should be generally equal between the carrier's.
