If you use a torch to remove the IFS components, be careful! That's a lot of heat near the frame. Folks do it all the time, but I chose to play it safe and use a plasma cutter for more control of what got hot.

i was gunna try to borrow a plasma cutter, and people i tlaked to said it would be way better with a torch since the IFS has a thick metal beam in the middle or something...

I had no problems with a plasma cutter and since the heat is better contained, I could get closer, leaving less grinding :) I would recommend you go that route as well. Easy as cake ;)

I know next to nothing about plasma cutters but from the specs I have seen on most units, and the 1 time I have used one, pretty much any plasma cutter should get the job done.

A plasma is nice (love mine) but for cleaning a frame of brackets, I suggest using a torch. The toyota frames are low carbon/mild steel, so heat will not affect the nature/strength of the frame at all..

One thing about the plasma, where you point, is where you cut. Using a torch, you will find that you can play with the heat thats aplied to part you are cutting, to remove it easier (hard to explain, but its a method I use on a regular basis)...

how much do you think the one that i might get is worth? will it do the job i am needing it for?

If you plan on doing alot of cutting, your going to need bigger bottles. That is a great set for occasional cutting and heating up parts for removal. What's nice about those is you can exchange the bottles anywhere like a 20LB propane tank. When you go bigger, you are stuck with where you purchase the bottle from to get it filled usually. The bottles don't last long at all. They only cost about $8 and $12 to get filled thou.

online it says it cost 100 bucks for the bottles? its only 12?

I Thought the bottles were included there. Forget that place and buy this one. Same stuff and includes the bottles for $219. You can only ship bottles empty. Then you have to go somewhere to get them exchanged for full ones. They don't fill those size bottles, only exchange them.
