kool.......i should not try to take off the bolt on the drivers side right....well i will work on it this weekend

I would try various combination of lifting the truck up off the suspension. Watch the ends of the bar closely and see if you can see when it has the least force on it. You should be able to see the rubber bushings flex and unload as the force changes. Depending in the lift you have, you may have to try various combinations of lifting. On the torque rod on the front of my '85 (very similar to the panhard but runs fore-aft) I had to use a small come-a-long to pull the things in alignment to get the bolt in. This was before I added a bracket and adjustable rod there.

I was emailing with Steve Schaefer the other day about this very subject. Here is what Steve wrote me regarding his drop bar:
This part is 100% bolt on and installs in minutes without even jacking the vehicle up or even taking the tires off . . . The hardest part will be getting the bolts out of the stock t-bar, as it is basically screwed up right now, the bolts will have tension on them. Once you install the new drop bar the holes will line right up . . . The easiest way to get the trac bar bolts out is just to get 2 or 3 people to stand on the rear bumper, lowering the rear down a bit, you go under there and pull one bolt out, the second one will come out very easy then. The bar only controls side to side movement, you can take it off, parked of course and swap it without issue. 4Peanut |
there is more to this.....3 people cant even get this low enough for the bar to run stright with the diff......the more i workon it i noticed i cant even get it off untill i remove the shock....i just cant seem to get it angled right

You might try using a come-along or ratchet strap between the axle and frame to pull the two closer together.

what if i work on the other side....the drivers side has a nut that i could take off, remove the brake line bracket...and hammer the rod off the bolt, insted of the passanger side i need to bang out a bolt...it seems like there would be less resistence???????
