i dont think you could get 5 inches out of just tbars when i sased mine i had about 2.5-3 inches of thread left i guess you could turn the tbars and install 2inch ball joint spacers
aslo note that it will probably ride like hell with the tbars cranked all the way up keep the sas in mind i did mine for 400 bucks for everything minus hysteer and tires and wheels i put the sfa steering in which will hopefully be soon i have a before and after pic avatar=after, profile pic is before |
Seriously man, i.know you want to lift it but for what? No point. Just get a 4x4, sometimes you'll get lucky and find one for like 1000 bucks.

Not gonna get 5 inches but they have BJ spacers for 2wd also, but really, why do you want a 5 inch lift?

the point of these threads is not to flame the op or ask completely worthless questions over and over like "why would you need 5 inches of lift?" chances are he wants to do this for looks and honestly there is nothing wrong with that. not everybody can shell out the money to buy a different truck and then shell out more money to lift it. i do agree with the sas mentioned, however i understand that it can become expensive real quick, so instead of asking stupid questions, try posting something worth the time you took to type it out.

BJ spacers and a 3" body lift will get you to 5"
Or if youre feeling spendy, Total Chaos makes some pretty sweet stuff. |
Start looking at prerunners. There are kits, total chaos comes to mind.

or buy ball-joint spacers, crank the tbars, block the rear end like lots of people do. you dont need a lift "kit" really. if it stays on the street and theres barley any snow whats the point of a 4wd (not saying it does im not sure but presumably why he got a 2wd) so all im saying is point him further into the direction he wants to go, not the way you wouldve gone
this really wasnt directed towards you redbay, it was more directed at cardone using his first post on yotatech asking "why would you want to lift a 2wd?" to a person asking for sugestions on how to make his truck the way he wants |
cant do blocks in the rear of 2wd to lift, they are spring under. you can do a flip kit or add a leafs with lift shackles though.
also balljoint spacers wont get you 2'' of lift. you might get a little lift out of them but most of it will come from being able to crank the torsion bars more then you would normally be able to but it will ride like crap and be very harsh if you go that high. youre much better off trying to find a pair of lift spindles. there is actually a whole thread about lifting 2wds here https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f212/ |
:facepalm: duh totally forgot about the spring under axles
when my truck was 2wd i just left it, was going to make it speedy fast lol but then do to a odd oil leak in the rear diff it never leaked while sitting only when i was moving so i didnt check it so when it went i had already had the sas stuff and rear axle so thats the direction i went soooo... |
