Has any put 1 ton springs under a yota?
Hello all, New to the forum about to start on an 86 extended cad build. The end goal is all around adventure rig. But I am wondering if any one has put 1 ton springs under a toyota? Or if you can point me towards the right thread that would be great!

A comon swap is to put checy 63" springs under the rear. Google "toyota 63 swap"

Not sure what you mean by that. 2WD 1 Tons use the same 30 spline axles(exc. they're 5 lug) and the same 8" rear diff as ½ Ton 4WDs. And ½ Ton 4WD frames are actually stronger than 1 Ton 2WD. Don't quote me on that though. They might be just as strong as ½ Ton 4WD frames. By that I mean they either use the same frames as ½ Ton 4WDs, or they use the same frames as ½ Ton 2WDs. Because there's no such thing as a "1 Ton" frame according to the FSM.
Meaning, if it isn't just about stronger springs, I don't know what it could possibly be. One more thing. It's not about DRW vs. SRW. Because there are 2WD 1 Ton SRW trucks.

well there wasn't much info to go on other than 86 xcab...is it 2wd or 4wd?
yes, the 1-ton axles are 8" diff with 30-spline. IIRC the dually version of the 1-ton is a full-floater version with the 4wd 6-lug pattern instead of 5-lug. I believe they also had lower gearing and a 4spd to help with hauling. They also had rear swaybars.
If it's just a leaf swap for more capacity, there's also the option of OME Dakar, HD version.
