5" skyjacker lift kit
Who has one of there kits? Do you likr it? Just trying to find out witch way to go be fore i lay out the$$$ or is there some other lift i should look at? thats not 1500. thx guys mike

If you are going to put a lift kit on and spend all that money, you may as well do it right. Check out www.marlincrawler.com or www.allprooffroad.com. More expensive, but much better performance and it has all the necessary parts, such as hi steer, something you will appreciate with 5" of lift and larger tires.
|
really?? you think... maybe i didnt look at it enougth. I was thinking 1500 was crazy. Anyone here have the all pro kit? thx mike
|
You'll be much happier with either kit (marlin or all-pro), you will need a IFS steering box though, just a fyi incase you didn't see that part.
|
My vote is Marlin or All-pro as well.
Both make good kits from what I have heard. As stated above you need an ifs steering box from 86-95 for the high steer setup. You'll be much happier with that! |
i had some skycrapper components such as springs and shocks... the truth is that they blow i wouldnt ever ever run them!! do it right even if you have to wait and save $$ or if your cheap like me run chevy 63" rears and stock toy rears up front..or get the marlin or allpro kit
|
Could you tell me more about chevy springs in back and toy ones up front? this sounds good , i have more chevy stuff then i know what to do with. thx
|
Do a search, there is plenty of information about doing the Chevy rear swap, even some write ups I think.
|
The skyjacker 5" springs are pretty stiff. Their 3" springs are by far the best "mass produced" front spring on the market. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or run them on my own vehicle. However, they are no cheaper than Marlin or AllPro.

everything that you would want to know and even more can be found here http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173918

that is great! thx

Anyone know of springs that dont need the hangers moved? i dont have the skill for that yet. if i had the cash i think i would go with the all pro kit. Is everything in that kit that i really need? I was just thinking i could use cheaper shocks and i dont need the shock hoops. I would just use ford ones. You know bring the price down so i could get that kit.
thx for the help mike |
Use the 3" skyjackers - very nice springs f&r
|
Do they flex OK?? 3" lift could i put 35s under it? thx mike
|
The 3" flex wonderfully, IMHO.
You can "put" 35's under a stock rig, if you want... The question is kind of nebulous. |
or you can get downey fronts, and run the chevy rears, thats a good setup too, just stay away from skycrapper
|
ok thx guys
|
anyone have the 3" skyjacker springs? and could you show some flex pics? thats would be great. I likr the allpro kit that is a lot of welding tho. i cant pull that $$$.
thx mike |

You did some fender trimming, do a little firewall trimming and you can stuff 35's under there with 3" of lift.
I think All Pro makes some stock length 4"-5" lift springs if you want to go that way. http://www.allprooffroad.com/index.p...ask=view&id=47 |
