2nd Gen 4runner Sway Bar Quick Disconnects
I did a Little Research and thought i would show my Quick disco's and explain how i did it.
NOTE: IM NOT LIABLE FOR YOUR DUMB ASS IF YOU TRY AND RE-CREATE WHAT I HAVE DONE AND SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.
This is a list of parts used.
2- 3/8x6" bolts
2-3/8" shaft collars
2 3/8" washers
2 springs (fits on 3/8" bolts)
2- 3/8" nylock nuts
2-5/32" hitch pins
2 1/2" I bolts
4-1 1/2OD x3/8" fender washers
stock bushings
First i unbolted the top and bottom of the vertical parts of the sway bars and removed them
I then welded the fender washers to the i bolts(only welded on on one side of each). This is where the 3/8x6 bolts go through.
after welding, i had to fit the 3/8" bolt through with enough space after the loose fender washer and other 3/8" washer to drill out my pin hole
i then bolted the i bolts to the upper part of the sway bar. once semi tight, i slid the 3/8" bolt through with the 1 1/2 x3/8 fender washer followed by the smaller 3/8 washer, followed by the spring, then the 3/8 collar, and then the upper rubber mounts
Making sure the rig was on a level surface,i tightened the locking collar, then tightened the bottom nut.
install the pin and BOOM! SWAY BAR QUICK DISCONNECTS
