go 295's or jump to 315's. IMO alot of work trimming to still fit a 33" tire... but thats me.

i never had em..but i had 285 mt/r's and my buddy has 305 mt/r's. size vs size..not much different really, just width. it looks more 'baloonier' (is that a word? ). come to think of it, it almost looks a bit shorter than my old 285's. youre putting em on your stockers? i think i remember you saying you've got spacers in there now, so you might need thicker ones...

mine on 285's n my buddy's on 305's we're both on LC's with ~2.75" front coilovers. im +1.5" on the BL though...

he had to trim pretty much same parts as i did w/ the LTD cladding... fender flare & running boards. no othe rubbing.

thats kind of what i was thinking,

yeppers, i have he stock wheels for now, and yes, i "did" have wheel spacers, but i shaved tha A-arms this past summer. I should be getting some Ivan Stewart wheels this spring, so that will help..
The more I think about it, I my just stay with the 285/75s. im not 100% i want a fatter tire, really wouldnt mind a taller tire. (you know, that short guy thing. lmao)
I really love the firestone MTs dont really want to "try" another tire just for the size.

BTW, I "love" them LC wheels, and the Ivan wheels, hey are my fav. 2 wheels.

i had 305/70 procomp mts, and went to 33x12.5 trxus mts... i know thats not what youre looking for but there are no downsides to the 305/70 size... the wider tread not only looks awesome, but it doesnt rub on the frame and will give you a better contact patch, if even by only an inch or so.

i like the wider tire personally.

the extra width makes the proportions look more "correct". to me, a 285 looks a little narrow.

on the LC wheels (16x8 w/ 4.5" BS), they only barely touch the upper arm at full droop. other than that, there's no additional work to clear them (on 2" of suspension and 1" body lift).

i will have my 315's here later this week. before mounting them, i'll be shaving the upper arms since the additional height will cause some potential rubbing if mounted w/ stock uppers.

according to goodyear, the 285 MTR's are 33.0" tall and 11.2" wide. the 305's are 33.0" tall and 12.2" wide...

to me, they fit better (visually) in the fender openings w/ the limited flares.

take a look at my pics for more...

thats another point to consider... each tire is measured differently, so a 305/70 for one tire wont be the same width as a 305/70 for another

I have the Firestone Destination MT's in the 305/70 size and my truck looks a little shorter than it would with 285's due to the width of the tire. I personally like having the extra width as i think it looks proportional.

Ric you know I'm thinking of the same thing as we talked about it earlier and I reall think the 305's will be my next tire. Back in my Jeep days I had 33x15.50x15's and it those TSL-SX's were crazy cool with how wide they were. I don't think rubbing should be too much of an issue with 305's and of course I think they will look just a little more stout.

this is what i was looking for, thankx for the great replies...

this is awesome, the TRD wheels are the same stats.

IMO i think mine looks "right" with the 285s on the stock wheels, we will see when i get the Ivan wheels.
i really apperciate all the replies, and opinions..
Andy, i cant wait to see the pics of the new wheels.

35's! you know you want to ric! Do it.

I think what Andy was trying to say is that he's not getting new wheels just new rubber. But that's sweet that your getting the Ivan's or LC's I love my LC's.
