15 degree cant or 30 degree cant?
 

what are the pros/cons? why do 30 or 15 degree cant on a pair of stubbs sliders? what is the difference? is it personal preference or is there a reason behind it? any help would be nice. thanks

multiple factors...

A slider is built to provide protection, yet, by mounting it below the area you want to protect, reduces ground clearance. With no angle, the loss of clearance is constant, with an angle, ground clearance is increased at the widest point.

My sliders, a set of All Pro's on the '87, and a set of Stubb's on the '05 Taco are very different. The distance from the doorsill to the bottom of the pinch weld is much longer on the '87 - that allows for a greater angle before the door to slider fit becomes a problem, On the '05, there is very little distance from the pinch weld to the door sill, so the angle is flatter.

If all the tube length are the same, the 30 deg slider will be closer to the body than the 15 deg- perhaps allowing for a less difficult time getting thru a tight section. My personal perferrence is for a little more width, and I like having the rear kickout. It helped avoid damage to the bed side's for a year or two...but after my first run thru Predator, it didn't much matter.

hey thanks that was exactly what i was looking for. our reply did spark another question. would the 30 degree fit on a second gen 4runner or would i have to go to 15's?

that question should probably be directed to who is making hte sliders.... as it is most likely possible for a fabricator to do it eitehr way....

stubbs welding. on their web site it looks like they give you the choice.
