Or, a little closer to home...
http://www.wattora.com/chrisco_work/cruiser/forsale/
I've been debating whether or not "publicly" announce that it's for sell (the deal I made with the wife was, if we got into a house before it sold, I got to keep it, if not, it has to go). After hearing what closing costs are going to run us when we find a house, I'll need the $$$.
Up 'till Rob's SAS, it'd been garaged for the past couple of years, only taken out for occasional trip around town, or to go camping.
I've got a new set of plugs for it sitting behind me on my workbench right now (they'll be going in tomorrow, if it's not still pouring down rain). It needs a calibration kit for the carb (runs a little rich), which can be had from Summit Racing for about $50... Other than that, it's a decent rig.
The price is 100% negotiable.
I can be reached at chrisco_at_wattora.com... Obviously, change the "_at_" to "@"

FJ40
I owned a 76 FJ40 for about 4 years. Great truck. Tough, tough, tough. The only thing I didn't like was the brutal gas mileage. As I remember, 19 miles to the imperial gallon on the highway and just 12 in the city.
The vehicle was truly built like a tank. There were rust problems, though. Rear doors and tub. But you can find some good aluminum tubs around. Also, the front trun signal lights, mounts into the fenders, used to come loose. The threads were usually rusted or stripped, so an alternate mount was necessary.
I understand the the originals were a GM design, built for the Korean war, But GM had supply problems and gave the design to Toyota. That story confirms the other story I heard that the FJ40 motor was actually a metricized Chev 262 in line 6. This is the reason it is so easy to drop a 350 into an FJ40.
Regards,
Bruce

FJ 40 purchase
I have a 71 fj40 that I might be willing to part with. It has a recent "rebuilt" 2f ( RV cam lifters, valve seals, bearings, shaved head and all neew gaskets, 38mm weber ) with a decent 4-speed trans and matching t-case. Chevy front disk with a toyota axle. Rear disk brakes, upgraded powerbooster, rear full-case Detroit locker, Saganaw powersteering, 4inch Man-A-Fre lift, shackle reversal, decent 35 inch BFG mud terrains. It has a soft top with hard doors on it now, I have all of the stuff to put the hard top back together, weatherstripping and new rain gutter, Paint is a back yard job that needs a little help, the rockers have been replaced (po) needs to be done again with the correct stuff. Tires fitt with no rear rubbing and NOT! cut. 5-6 K is what I am thinking for a price, I can post PICS if neccessary, lets hear the Q's and suggestions.

Contemplating FJ40 purchase
When I get off work I will go home and get the camera and take some picturesof it. I am selling it and my 98 TRD ext tacoma for a good down payment on a 4 door tacoma, 5 month old kid and I have a hard time getting him in the back with a rear facing car seat. I live in a condo that has a 2 car garage take by my truck and the wifes Jetta. So I now have to park the 'cruiser at work and it kills me to see it sitting after I have finished all of that work, no real time or close [ 1 1/2 hour drive ] good places to wheel it, so it really needs to go for the new truck. I know That when I get a house with a garage I will build one from scratch. I have drive a couple of v8 rigs and it really wasn't for me, lotsof torque with the I-6, big tires it will do almost 80 at 3000 rpms, 4:11 gears. I have been on trips to eastern Wa and I could make from seattle to the george on a tank of gass, old noise rattle 1f motor that I tried to blow up but just would never let go and the rod noise at idle never got any louder.

JPEG files work the best (.jpg). Also, you need to keep them to 50k or less.
If you'd like you can e-mail them to me and I can post them somehow...let me know and I'll PM you with a good e-mail address.

yes but from the homepage of yotatech, under "recent threads" on the far right hand side...if you click on a thread...it doesn't say "moved to so and so section"
all i seen when he posted...was a post from 2003, then his post saying "wow this is an old thread"
seeing something like that, implies that he was just posting in an old thread, just to be doing it.
