So will the offset differential be in the rear axle? Looking awesome by the way.

Working on axles next. They are both Trail-Gear 9's, 3.5"x.250. The rear is currently being custom built since the diff is so far offset.

I do have the front here, it's getting Super Duty steering knuckles machined for high steer.

They look better when you get them. They got rained on and have been in the corner for a year so I cleaned them up some but still not as good looking. The machine work is top notch.

I got as far as calculating out all the measurements for the width I want. Should be going together tomorrow. 66" WMS with equal length inner shafts. Less spares to haul around.

66" WMS, 6* caster. Pinion is offset so I can run the same length inner shafts. I stuck the inner c's in the oven and pounded them on with a sledge hammer. Tight fit.

I wanted to get the knuckles bolted up but couldn't find my camber/caster bushing for the upper ball joint.

Trail-Gear unit bearings, 6x5.5. One of the 5 I have has been an excellent back door stop for the last year, lol.

Sticking with my common parts store/fewer spare parts approach I'm running the same exact caliper, rotor, pads, and brake lines on all 4 corners. The calipers are pretty cool, the bleeder and brake hose are interchangeable so they work left to right.

Brake Rotor, 13.25" diameter, drilled to 6x5.5:

Brake Caliper, mine are salvage yard for now. I'll get new if they work out.

Caliper brackets are Currie Part #: 60-2013JKCBK:

Warning: Caliper mounting hardware on the left is wrong. See next post.

One thing I found out is the caliper mounts are different on 2 of the 4 salvage yard calipers I have. Not sure what vehicle the are off of yet. I didn't notice until I went to bolt up the 2nd caliper which obviously wouldn't fit like it should.

The one on the right doesn't fit. Left is what is needed to work with everything else.

I'm glad the first caliper I bolted on was the correct one. It might have taken longer to figure out that I had to different mounts if it the first one didn't fit. I would have assumed they were all like that.

Reviving a dead thread here, but any news on this build?
I've long wanted to see a mid-engine offroad rig, and I'm hoping this beast hasn't gone the way of forlorn projects.

Nope. Chassis is sitting in the weeds. I ended up putting all the parts in my 3rd gen 4Runner. 4 seater is more fun.
