Addicted Offroad Tire carrier build

We've done a few of these. I actually really liked this one though.

For the record. These can only be built IN-HOUSE on the rig. So, please don't call us unless you plan to bring the rig in for a few days. :grinpimp:

Iron Pig spindle. Destaco 344 latch.

Another one of the hitch.

We're finishing up the thing now, so I will get some pics up later today of the finished product I hope.

I'm curious, what thickness of walls and outer dimensions did you use for the square main body? What did you use for the hinge?

Main body is .188 wall. Mounting legs into the frame are .250 wall. Turb wraps are .120 wall.

Hinge is listed in the original post.

This will sound disrespectful and I don't mean it that way, but may I ask why? All 4Runners are the same dimensions, what's the problem with creating a universal one?

I'd pay a lot of money for a bumper like that.

Because in order to build it to be strong enough, you need to weld the bumper into the frame rails. Unfortunately, there is no way to just build the whole unit and then slide in into the frame due to how high the frame sits above the body. So, it gets welded together in pieces. Because of this, the only way to do it is to sell it in pieces. And, to be honest, I don't want the liability in having a garage fabricator do this themselves.

That looks great! How much would something like that cost?

Ahh, I understand. I'm guessing there's no way to use 4Crawler-style bolt-on mounts, right?

Still an awesome piece of armor. Will defintely be a source of ideas and inspiration to me and others fabbing our own!
