Hi Guys,
I need a mechanic1 I have a '94 manual trans 4Runner with a siezed 3.0 engine. I need a mechanic to swap out the motor for a 3.4 and get me back on the road.

I'm ready to pull the rigger on ths one. I need someone (preferably reliable) to get started on the job!!

I need a some numbers and references. Does ANYONE have any recommendations in the DFW / North Texas area?

Time to make a Happy New Year with a my 4runner back on the road!!

Just curious how much do you have in the budget for this project??

Have you ever done any swaps before your self?

How long a turn around are you looking for??

These questions answered may help you get responses .

I'm budgeting cash. The first estimate from a responsible shop in the area (not familiar with swaps as far as I know)would be to install another 3.0 and not swap, but it includes a rebuilt motoer and all the extra details, pushing 5-6k. :eeek: I think they estimated the replacement motor at around 3k, so a decent shop should be somewhere under that.

How much is a job like this worth?? :help:

I've never done a swp before, nor do I have the tools or area in my garage to do the work.

Turn around is somewhat open, I'd like to have the vehicle returned in a reasonable time and that can be discussed upfront. I realize this could take a couple weeks, depending on the a variety of factors. For the right guy or shop, I'm good with a turn-around time of a month or so. What would be the right time depends on who is doing it.

Thanks for asking!
John

Shouldn't take more than a week IMO as there isn't that much to it from someone who knows what they are doing.

$1500-2000 in labor easy
