Covered space to work on my truck in the s.f. bay area

Hi there, I've got a 1985 toyota pickup with a 22re. I'm living in the east bay of San Francisco, and I'm wondering if any one has suggestions on places I can work on my truck. So far I've been able to manage working on my truck on the side of the street. However I'm getting ready to do an engine rebuild, rear brake rebuild, and am considering the vented front brake upgrade, and am not wanting to do all that work on the side of the street.

I've heard of auto shop rental space but at a costly $30 an hour. I also have known of people in colorado who rent out storage space that they then work on there car inside of. Any help from anyone would be greatly beneficial.

A large self storage unit might be your best bet. It's reasons like this I refuse to ever live in an inner city.
