Woodgrain removal?

I was just wondering if there was anyway to remove the woodgrain dash trim w/o marking up the plastic underneath. I don't mind it too much but if I could get it off there that would be cool. Maybe there is some sort of solvent that loosens the glue? Thanks for any help.

Is this an aftermarket wood kit or is it from the factory? If its from the factory, the wood trim is painted on to the pieces. I am not sure how to remove the aftermarket pieces off the trim pieces. Contact Jason B on the forum, he might have some information about it.

It is an aftermarket "stick-on" kit. One of the corners has started to peel off and there is a bit of glue and marking underneath. thx vato

Heat it up with a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Then you can clean it with armourall or another plastic safe solvent. There is a goof off 2 which may work. But please look first so you don't have to blame me for melting your dash.:pat:

I had an aftermarket wood kit on mine, that I pulled off, just get a blade, peel one corner, and slowly work you way off, no heat necessary, although it might help (I dunno) .. there is some after resdue left that comes off with pretty much any solvent .. very easy to do.

Heat should help, and stuff like 'goof-off' will work well (I've used it on my plastic motorcycle fairings w/o problems).
To get the decals off my motorcycle, I used my heat gun, some goof off, and some elbow grease. Shouldn't be too bad, good luck.
