This link might work:

http://truckperformance.com/vehicle....4=Locking+Hubs

but if not then just go to www.truckperformance.com and put in your vehicle info and then scroll through types of parts to the locking hubs listing and they have a few brands and types to choose from.

I'm not an expert (im actually an idiot who has just read too much) but from when i was asking the same thing about getting locking hubs the dude (at Yotayard) said i needed to get the whole kit if i was setup with ADD currently. Im not 100% though so wait for real advice.

Wait...the Truckperformance site says you have to get the kit if you have ADD (the yotayard guy is right) it says here:

Search around for a used set of Aisin manual locking hubs from an IFS truck or 4Runner...that is exactly what you will need. Then, all you have to do is get the two necessary gaskets per side (part #'s on Corey's website).

dont know any other ways to raise the front besides buying a suspension lift kit. And i was also thinking of getting a downey 3 inch lift kit. But that only raises the rear.

How much lift do you want?? Cranking the T-Bars is for like an inch at most. Anywhere over 14.5 from fender to rim will put alot of stress on them. Cranking the T-bars are used for more of leveling things out not really getting lift from what i know.

I got my Aisins off a guy here on the board for $50. bought the gaskets at toyota for about $15. spent about 2 hours total taking the hubs apart, cleaning them and regreasing them, then installed them. By far the best $65. I have spent on my runner.

what do you mean by gaskets, are they what you need to convert to manual hubs. And if so by saying you got them from toyota are you refering to the dealership.

the hubs are 2 pieces. there is one gasket thet separates the pieces and 1 that goes between the hubs and the axle. I got them at my local dealer.

Hey there is a great write-up on this and its really easy to do. You dont need the whole spindle kit its a complete bolt-on thing. Really easy. All you have to do is pull the used Aisin hubs apart clean them, re-grease them and remove the dust cap from the ADD and rmove the goldish colerd ADD hub. Then bolt them up WITH the gaskets you Are going to need at the dealership. I dont remember how much the gaskets were but I know I didnt spend $15 it was more like $5. Good luck check out the write-up in the tech section. This really is an easy mod and also I cranked my t/bars to about 14.5 for 4 days and I hated it. But its all my opinion. Good luck.

Me too

Is there such a thing as a better hub? Is a Toyota Aisin better than a Warn or vice versa? This is one of the mods I would like to do, or have done, to my truck. If I bought the hubs and miscellaneous parts to do it I'm sure I could find someone to help or just stand there and show ME how to do it while I do the dirty work. Gotta learn somehow and that's the best way.

However will a Toyota dealership do this? Will they convert ADD to manual for you? I wonder what that does to my warranty?

I hope to have a set of hubs in the next week to sell. They are coming off a rolled pickup. I already checked them out and will sell for $50. I'll let you know in another week and see if you still need them. BTW if you get them new from Toyota, they will cost like $400, and you'll have to make them from parts. Aisins are better than Warns or others.

Aisins are better than Warn's because they stick out less, reuse cone washers and are over built Toyota.

Keep an eye on for sale sections on all the boards, or check yards near you. Any manual hubs from 86 to 95 pre-Taco will work. There ought to be a number of those wrecked across the country.

Goudy, you own a Tacoma, and you are in the same boat as 3rd gen 4Runners.

It will cost you around $1K to do it, and they are Warn hubs that come with the kit.
Talk to Jeff the marmit on here.
Look up his profile, and you should see a link for his website.
In fact I found it.
http://www.trailseeker.com/4x4/mods/4Runner/

Here's the info:

•4Runner Manual Hub Conversion
$1039 - 4Runner (ORS-HB002)
This kit is necessary to lift your 4Runner above 2.5" without major CV boot damage. Includes new Warn hubs. Can be used with all ADD systems and ABS. The kit includes new wheel bearings and everything else needed. Please read our technical article about this kit.
