What do you guys use for an auto tranny gasket?

Hey guys!

I'm going to drop the tranny pan on my 98 tacoma and clean the filter and magnet in the pan. Question for you........ What do you guys use for a tranny gasket?

Toyota parts dealer says to buy a 20 dollar tube of high temp silicone or they sell some crappy cork gasket. Now I know cork gaskets from my GM days and they always weeped fluid out. If there is one thing I can't stand its leaks!! So what do you guys recommend?

Mickey,
don't know about $20.00 but yeah I used silicone sealer on mine forgot the name but it was high temp copper colored stuff.
I'm with you no leaks.

Standard, oil-resistant, high-temp RTV from Napa. $6.00 for a tube. A tube will last for multiple tranny pan gaskets.

"The Right stuff" worked great for me.

I forgot about the right stuff. I used that in the past on my Leakers.....I mean Chevy and it did work pretty good.

Anyone else?

If anybody needs pan gaskets we can supply them. They are Duraprene, not crappy cork.
