Vibration at 40, Goes away at 55

Title says it all. Truck will start vibrating at 40 and go away at 55. Its not really a shake, just a vibration, you can feel it throughout the whole truck.

Had the tires balanced, greased all the u-joints, no play in drivelines. Going to check tire pressure and see what that does.

Any Ideas?

I've been fighting something similiar... but my vibration starts ~60 and ends ~70mph.

- tires have been balanced by mutliple shops... and the dealer
- had the ujoint replaced and driveshaft balanced(this helped some)
- then had cardon joint replaced and the drive shaft re-balanced (another improvement)

... but the damn vibration is still there... may try rotating tires. Not sure what else it could be. Wheel bearings?

Are any of these lifted? I had the same problem as Batsoff begins 60 and ends at 70. This happened when I had my front adjustable coils to tall and had to crank them down a half inch to decrease the CV joint angle.

I had this problem on my truck too. After months of trying to track the problem down, it was the simplest of fixes. It turns out that some real soupy mud got on the inside portion of my rim and dried almost like concrete. Took a screwdriver and scraped all the mud from the inside of the rim and wahla....vibration gone.

Don't know if your issues is such an easy fix, but thought I would share. Who knows...

Let us know if you find out what your problem is.

Stock Height

It just happened one day out of the blue so I doubt its mud in the rim or something to that effect

Had the whole front end inspected and everything checked out.

Bump cause I need this fixed by next weekend, I gotta go to the Oregon Meetup!

Might end up taking it to a shop, I'm tired of chasing this damn problem.

I've had mud terrains vibrate like that even after re-balancing them. What kind of tires are you running?
