If you take it out of your own truck (versus use a doner) then you'll have to factor in the cost of alternate transportation while the truck's down (rent a car?), and the cost of quick-shipping to/from the east coast (I think it ships at 15 pounds), and the cost of replacing the tranny fluid that you'll lose when you drop the pan (about 5-6 quarts).
All totalled, it ends up being more like $1000 for folks on the west coast if you need it back soon. Most of that is shipping costs:

Im working with John in stocking valve bodys that are done by him and I treat your valve body as a core like i do with cams.
