V6 limited slip into 4 cyl third member?

guys I need your help.

I'm getting an offer to buy a TRD limited slip differential (it is the carrier only, no gears), the problem is that it was intended for a V6 99 taco.

I have a 98 4 cyl Taco 4x4 manual tranny and all, will the limited slip diff. fit into my 4 cyl third member?

I need to know today, so please let me all know, I'll be getting it cheap and it is brand new...

Thanks!

Tacomas have never came with a TRD LSD.

But, if you're wondering whether a Tacoma/4Runner TRD electric locking diff wil fit into your 3rd member. No, it won't. And your ring and pinion gears aren't compatible with it either.

The part number for the TRD LSD is 00646-41301-100.

It will also fit Tundras, this is what the seller stated...

Anyone else can care to chip in their 2 cents on this?

I'm about to go and buy it, just want to be more sure about it, I'm getting an excellent deal on it, it is brand new, never installed...

Fits the 8.4" 3rd just fine. I have about 5 installs on them at my site

To clarify a little better....your 98 is the same rear 3rd as a 96...99...01...03...04 etc. You have the very common 8.4". At least it's common among Tacomas and Tundras.
