trans coolers???

what the general opinion regarding trans coolers? Is there a rule of thumb. for instance: If you are pulling more the 2000lbs etc??? Also what can I expect to pay? Any help is really apprecaited :D

The general rule of thumb is that you can never keep a transmission too cool.

Highly inexpensive mod.

Look for HAYDEN model # 1678 at any local auto parts. You're looking to pay around fifty bones.

I don't know if all hardware is included.

There are few write-ups in the TECH SECTION for your generation model.

The transmission cooler was my 2nd mod. I bought that long before the thought of supercharging or towing came to mind. Like King said, its cheap insurance.

I bought the TRD tranny cooler, but I hear the the Hayden is just as good. :bigok:

I believe that 4Runners do NOT come with them, regardless of year/model... but some tacos/minis do.

This is just what I think to the be case from all the threads I've read.

I also went with the TRD cooler on my rig... easy insurance against a fate worse than death. OK, maybe not that bad but...

Yes...they have tranny coolers. Like most if not all automatics, they are actually located inside of the radiator. An auxillary cooler is always a good idea that can't hurt.

Alright, I may eventually look into this then, looks like a pretty easy/inexpensive mod.
