Toyota Truck and SUV Anti-Sway Kits
I am just wondering if anybody has tried just the poly kit, instead of adding all new Addco swaybars? Is there much difference by just replacing the poly bushings?
http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/antisway.jpg Here is the company hoopla: These inexpensive kits are very popular and noticeably improve the sway and body roll of the Toyota trucks and SUV's, making them feel more stable. The kit replaces the factory sway bar bushings on your stock front sway bar. We also include some new bumpstops for the front suspension. You will really enjoy the way your truck feels while cornering after installing this kit. Our kit comes with the necessary sway bar and end link bushings, poly bumpstops and poly/teflon lube. Easy installation and instructions are included. Thanks! |
It's only my opinion but after just upgrading my stock front sway bar to the Addco swaybar I would think that the best enhancement in handling would be with changing the sway bar and not just the bushings. The 4Runner is so heavy that I don't think you'd notice much if any difference with just a bushing change. The best use of this bushing kit might be if your current bushings are so shot that new ones are necessary...then you might notice some improvement in handling just because they're new.

I have them on the front of my swaybar for the bottom of the bar, and the end links.
For the rear, I only have them on the end links as seen here. It did seem to help the ride some going around corners. I can't get the rear ones on that slip over the rear bar. I bought my kit from NWOR (never ever will I shop with them again) and I told them the rear ones did not fit the bar, they were to small. He wanted me to get a micrometer and measure the damn bar. I hung up, and only out a few $$$ for the things. I'll contact Energy Suspension and get some for the rear bar some day. |
Thanks guys :bigok:
