Towing with auto 2wd 3.4 96 4runner
Hey guys sorry I have been gone for so long but I wanted to consult the pros about towing my 2013 gsxr1000 with my wife's auto 1996 4runner.
The truck runs good and has 217,000 miles on it and shifts fine and has healthy trans fluid . I was wondering would it be able to do this using a 8 foot utility trailer , the truck already has a receiver hitch leading me to believe the previous owner towed with it . It also has no trans cooler , so I was curious as to what fluid and cooler would be recommended for this .
I love the truck and it even gets about 21-23 mpg on the highway lol !!!
Better than my 2010 tacoma for sure !!!
Also any advice on where to get the helper spring rear shocks ??
I had some for my 1992 3.0 truck but can't find any for this 4 runner .,
Thanks to all again for any input. !'

The towing capacity is rated at 5000 pounds. I towed a 25 foot pontoon boat on a 20 minute trip averaging 50mph, with no problems. I have the same 3.4 v6 with the 15inch wheels, which have smaller brakes than the limited. I couldn't tell you how much the trailer and pontoon boat weighed, but I was comfortable with it.

You're talking about a ~500lbs. motorcycle plue whatever the trailer weighs. You'll be fine, you might even forget that it's back there.
I've towed my R6 several times, it's too easy.
