Touching up paint
Well if some of you read the thread about egging cars you know that my truck was keyed.. 6 inch gash above the pass driving light and about 4 foot gash on the bed.. If i get the touch up paint and put it in the gash.. let it dry and wet sand it smooth then clear coat and wax it should be pretty much gone right?

Seems like no one ever got keyed before and did their own touch up :(

Airbrush it, man!
I use a $15 airbrush kit. Go to walmart and buy a 97 cent bottle of model enamel and tape off right around the edges of the scratch (if you have a nice easy color like black, otherwise, buy a touch up paint bottle and put it in the airbrush bottle). Airbrush it lightly, then airbrush a bit of clear over it. Usually don't even have to buff, but a bit of compound 2-3 days later and you won't be able to find it.
Takes all of 5 minutes to do a nice job, 3 if you're good. :-) |
If you live in a big enough city there will be shops that specialize in fixing scratches without having to repaint the whole area. They can do it in a about 10 mins and you won't even notice there was a scratch. Check your yellowpages.

This link is a good tutorial for scratch repair but for you might want to get a quote from a professional detailer in your area. IF it's really deep try a respectable auto body/paint shop. Good luck.
