touched up my sliders and started on my hitch...

figured i wasnt going to try to rattle can them on my truck as its pretty windy here this time of year. also, i used the same stuff i sprayed them on with and a fowm brush (i think it does a better job without streaking)

the goods!

all i did was whipe em down real good, sand em a bit and throw some paint on there! now ill just touch em up when needed. the 8oz can of paint was PLENTY and ill have enought to put another coat on them tomorrow and still have about half left for touch ups or some frame/axle work!!!

looks really good man. i like the shiny look on your 4runner. got some pictures of the whole vehicle? oo and by the way, how ya like that exhaust?

fireteacher 09-26-2006 03:48 PM

the exhaust is SWEET. i thought it was loud at first, it grew on me now though!

i forgot to mention that the paint at the depot was $3.77 and the brushes were $.37!!

Ric 09-26-2006 04:26 PM

looks :bigclap: nice. the "before" pic is what mine look like all the time, lol (got new ones coming) but I use to repaint them after every wheeling trip, that got to be a pain.

neliconcept 09-26-2006 05:06 PM

looks good man.. ill be the one soon with the shiny red sliders on my 4runner haha.. (SAS in the works too)

fireteacher 09-26-2006 06:14 PM

are you still two wheel drive neliconcept? are you painting them on or off? i am interested to see how they look once you get em done! never seen anything but black and might want to change mine! not red but maybe....i dunno!

neliconcept 09-26-2006 06:24 PM

if I convert its gonna be either SAS or IFS,, not IFS then SAS.. still debating it..

i havent even welded them together yet.. we are waiting for my BL to come in.

im gonna have em powdercoated or maybe ill paint em myself

fireteacher 09-26-2006 06:29 PM

if your gonna wheel, i wouldnt waste the $ on a powder coat job! i am not sure of its durrabilty but i would guess if you put it on a rock, it'll look like that reguardless of what kinda finish you choose! why red?

calrockx 09-26-2006 06:34 PM

my sliders are powder coated. they've held up pretty well through the rocks.
a can of hammerite spray paint touches them up real nice.

this brush on paint business looks good tho.

Whitey13 09-27-2006 10:50 AM

Very impressive job. What kind/grit sandpaper did you use?

RunnerUp 09-27-2006 10:59 AM

yeah, good job man... i like the way it looks, can you post up a side view of your truck? im trying to decide between the TG sliders and the stubbs deluxe, cant seem to make up my mind

no contest there, go with Stubbs, hes been a long time supporter of yotatech, great products, a great guy, and great customer service.

RunnerUp 09-27-2006 11:14 AM

hijack:
thats what i keep hearing and have noticed, i also saw the thread bashing TG for screwing stubbs awhile ago... i just want sliders now!! and 130$ for them is cheap... oh well, geuss i have to wait a little longer, thank god florida doesnt have too many rocks!
:hijack

Ric 09-27-2006 11:36 AM

hey Im sorry if it came out as "bashing" TC, that was not my intent, im more than happy with Stubbs products.
fireteacher,
sorry for getting off topic here.

fireteacher 09-27-2006 11:41 AM

no problem. thanks for the atta-boys! also, i used 200/400 and 600 wet/dry sand paper. i spent alot of time on the top and sides and just roughed up the bottom enough to get fresh paint to stick...as if it wasnt chewed enough!! ill put another two coats on there over the weekend.
