I'm upgrading to one of these:

In 3 months, I'll have it!!! Sucks it's going to take that long, but that's the price you pay to get something as cool as this! The expeditions have only started!

Nice!
I always wanted one of those when I had my '90 Extracab.
I loved my tent trailer, it was 19' when opened, but they are a PITA to setup, then you have to air them out afterwards if it rained during your trip.

The nice thing about your setup is if you do have to air out the top canvas part, it is a heck of a lot easier than setting up a tent trailer and leaving it up for a day to dry out.

Why I'm selling my canopy...

Well, for one of these!

3 months and it's MINE!!!! Hopefully that is, it just depends on whether they have any setbacks when building it.

Yuppers!

Snap-on: I'm going with air-bags for now. Depending on how it drives, storage space, etc. I might end up going with some Deaver springs and just keep it on the truck, but we'll see in 3 months!!!

Woohoo!

So what is "it"? It looks like a nice camper, but what's the make/model? Manufacturer website?

Beyond sweet sugar.

I'm getting the 16000 BTU furnace, a fold out couch, and the "arctic pack"

With the furnace and the arctic pack, i can go camping in subzero temps!!! What's that you say? Camping up at Big Sky in the dead of winter, NO PROBLEM! The beauty of this thing, it weighs about 100 lbs more than what I've got now!

I bought the shell model with the furnace, arctic pack, mechanical camper jacks, and fold out couch.

The "eagle" was too much.

I might down the line, but as for right now, 64 oz gatorade bottles work, haha.

edit: just so long as you don't mistake it in the middle of the night.

David -

Dude, that's sweet. I love expedition-type rigs and set-ups.

I know you will be out in the middle of nowhere most of the time, but do you have something for protection in your home away from home? Maybe a shotgun or sidearm? Just curious.

Have fun!

A glock 20 is going to be my next "mod"

Followed by a shotgun.

Being that far away from things, I'm definitely going to be needing protection from both people and animals.

I'll definitely post up pics and make some journals of my trips that I'm going to be doing.

Get a side-by-side and saw it off.

How much does a thing like that cost? My friend's doing a year-long trip, and he just has everything set up in his 97 4Runner. It'd be sweet if he'd gotten a hold of something like that truck/camper/apartment.
