Tail Lights

i've heard that 1989 Toyota Pickup tail lights WILL FIT on a 1987 Toyota Pickup 2WD and i've heard that they WILL NOT FIT on. So would they fit perfectly or close to perfectly on a 1987 2WD Toyota Pickup?
