Superlift vs Others

I know there isn't a lot of discussion here about lifts for the torsion bar laden trucks but...

I was ready to shell out for the Procomp stage II lift for my 95 pickup, then someone suggested I look on ebay for the Superlift kit that is routinely posted for $530 - new. Even with shipping this is several hundred dollars less than I was planning to spend. That's a big plus. Also it uses a one piece ifs crossmember, where the procomp is only brackets. Now I know the procomp lift is said by many to be the best, but since I have no personal experience so I'm throwing the questions out.

I wouldn't be using the superlift springs (and they don't come in the kit so that's not an issue - they wouldn't have been in the procomp kit I was going to order either).

Any opinions on Superlift vs other IFS lifts (including procomp)??

edit - I should add that offroad use in minimal and not extreme - it's the extra breakover angle I'm going for - not bigger tires - not more articulation...

My question is, where did you find the lift kit for $550?

The lifts for the 4runners are a little more expensive but still a good value (if its a good kit). Many folks don't like the superlift springs/coils, but I'm not planning to buy them (not included in the price for the trucks anyway). Do a search on ebay motors for 'toyota lift kit' I'm waiting on a reply from the seller (I think he's a rep from one of the online retailers anyway - just selling discounted lifts without the retailers name attached. (for instance - he has 91 new milemarker winches to sell - I doubt they are in his basement).

I have the superlift on my 90. I like it alot. It was $770ish for me w/free install through a promotion @ 4wheelparts. ( I was glad i had them install it too because it requires that you cut off your old cross member. I can post some pics if you want.
Mine did cast little more because I got some optional equipment as well.

denver4x4 -

Yeah, I'm a little nervous about the crossmember. Did they really have to cut it out - I was under the impression that it was an unbolt the old and bolt on the new type deal. I guess I need to pay more attention next time I'm under more truck?

Can I ask what you added to the kit? I'm curious about the optional lower control arm braces - If you have them a pic of that would be great.

I've got an 88 with the Superlift 4" lift in it. I ended up paying around $946 ( I believe) and I installed it myself. It came with the rear springs....I love it and it was fairly easy to go in too. Just need someone with some fab skills to put some heat to those front adjusting cam bolts...Chances are you'll have to replace atleast one if not all 4. I got lucky and only needed to replace one....:P ....Hope that helped..
