sunroof buzz
 

i tried searching but only found people with 4th gens who had problems so i thought id ask.

does anyone else have an obnoxious buzzing vibration from their sunroof when they go above, lets say, 40?

this started on feb 2nd.. i can pinpoint the exact date because the 1st time i heard it was on the way to the airport to pick up my parents. it has only gotten worse.

before i take it in to get looked at, i thought id see if there were any ideas?? since the day i got it i noticed that it allows air through.. ie if im in an auto carwash and im at the part where those machines blow air to dry it, i can feel the air hit my hair. but no water gets through somehow ever? :think:

any ideas?

i had same issue for about a year after i bought the truck...i've located the source. the sunroof track...the plastic lining was rattling/rubbing against sheetmetal. I've wrestled with this isssue for few months and one day i just decided to spray some wd40s around the track. To my amazement, it disappeared and hasnt come back till this day(2yrs) I dont know if this is what you're having a problem with but hope this helps.

mine does it only in the tilt position. it rattles like crazy.

the wd-40 did not fix it and it is annoying the CRAP out of me.

im taking it to a toy dealership i guess.. its such an obnoxious noise!

sorry to hear that...and yes i agree, the noise was quite annoying when I had it, made me wanna get a JEEP!!! JK :)

turned out to be a loose screw... pressed my ear up to the sunroof while my buddy drove.

noise is gone :)
