Sunday Project completed

Well, I got around to using the "Corey wash/wax method" today using the Porter Cable, Griots car wash soap, Griots clay, and the Griots Best of Show wax.

I gotta tell ya, the claying and waxing were pretty easy with the PC but taking the BOS off by hand with their micro fiber towels WAS A LOTTA WORK! I'm supposed to get the wax removal bonnet this week but I had time today and wanted to try it out.

This was the first time I ever clayed a car and the feel of the paint after the clay is really silky smooth.

Just curious..I used waxing and buffing pads from Sears on my Bosche random-orbit sander. About 2/3 of the way around the vehicle, the pads would barely stay attached to the sander. I'm trying to decide is this is due to the sander or the pads.

By the way, I got the sander free many years ago as a gimmee when Ford wanted me to test drive a F150. I came, I saw, I drove, I filled out my card for the free sander, I left and bought the 4Runner a while later.

It sounds like your free sander is working about as well as that F-150 would have. Hey, at least you didn't pay for it.

Precisely what I was thinking. It does good enough in the sanding department but gives up the grip before the disks are worn out as well. It'll do for now.

Run what ya brung.
