stock tacoma lift upgrades?

i am currently searching these forums and the net, plenty of information for me to parse. but in the mean time if anyone would like to chime in on this:

i just installed a cat-back pipe set that i've had laying around for years now, in my 2000 tacoma. the truck is mostly stock and has had a fiberglass shell on since new. well, the new exhaust pipe tip comes out between the spring and frame, behind the passenger rear wheel. the last time i put this system on, the clearance was OK. now following a couple years, the clearance is minimal, and the pipe almost rests on the spring (maybe a finger of space or less), and i can hear the clank going down the road when the spring compresses.

the truck is my dd, and i dont really want to modify it too much. i'm keeping the 31 inch tires on, for instance. i guess i can go get oem replacement springs for the rear, and that might give me an inch plus, which would probably be ok to solve the exhaust pipe deal. however, i am also looking into an upgraded spring that would produce stock lift or maybe an extra inch, that also might not sag again during the next five years like oem would.

from some of the searching on this forum, it looks like OME might have a mild lift solution. sonora steel also appears to offer a tacoma solution, although probably more lift than i was thinking of. anyone have any good advice? a good spring (upgraded from oem) with stock lift would be best, or like 1.5 inch over stock lift all the way around the truck. i dont want the 31" tires looking dinky under there. not looking for a cheap solution, just the best one. thanks in advance.

also for consideration, i just found some extended greasable shackles from NWOR http://www.northwestoffroad.com/part...es_tierod.html

claims 1 5/8 inch lift. any experience with these, anyone? i wonder if they will provide enough lift between the new exhaust pipe and spring...?

if you want the hassle of dealing with nwor go for it

maybe i should be searching for NWOR opinions first... never dealt with them before.

anyone use these shackles, have opinion? scroll down to bottom http://www.downeyoff-road.com/Suspen...06_Tacoma.html

i am thinking that the 1 1/2 inches of lift they provide will set me pretty close to stock ride height with my old springs, maybe just a bit over, for $52

the NWOR ellite shackles are greasable, and look like a lot better construction. i wonder if that is worth the extra $50?

still looking for the best way to regain stock ride height plus one inch, or stock height with a longer-life spring.

or RBs? http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Shackles.shtml

no opinions folks, or is stock-height lift just too lame to comment on? at least give me the courtesy of a flame :pissed:

Hold the phone.....this isn't a helpdesk where people are on call to answer.
Be patient and people will chime in and help you out.

This is not uncommon for dealing with NWOR:
