This some form of nifty feature?

I've swapped on my manual hubs (bout 3 weeks ago actually)... Well when I go down the road with the hubs unlocked. I can still pull my t-case shifter in 4wd from 2wd, while going down the road. Without pushing the clutch in or anything? This have something to do with ADD feature? My hubs unlock just fine, I can turn my cv shafts when in free just fine.

You can still engage the transfer case without locking the hubs. Your front wheels won't turn though. I can shift my '83 into 4HI/4LO without pressing the clutch.

I can while going down the road, hell while going down the freeway at 60mph... It just shifts right in, not easy like it does with them locked, but not hard either.

My 82' wont do that. It'll grind like a SOB.

May I suggest not shifting into 4wd at 60mph. :scared:

And I thought that there was a driveline clunk if you engaged 4wd with unlocked hubs at speed, because the front driveshaft would not be spinning, or is this not the case with newer models?

If you want fun, shift into 4lo without the wheels locked. Get a grunty 2lo. But don't do this while driving, and don't exceed 15-20mph when you do get going again.
