i went out to holy jim trail in lake forest today and on my out of the trail, i hit a rock going a little bit too fast, and snapped my front passenger brake line off at the caliper. we got out of the trail we brake fluid leaking and just using the e brake, and mickey moused it, with a pair of vice grips and some zip ties for the 30 mile ride home.

my question is, i have a 2.5 coil spacer lift, do i need to get longer brake lines, and steel braded ones?

I would suggest steel brake lines for sure. They are always an upgrade over stock.

What year are you working with? Does the brake line bolt straight to the caliper, or do you have a hard line from the rubber line to the caliper? I can't remember which year and with what setup it changed.

If you have a hardline from the rubber to the caliper, getting the steel braided lines won't fix your problem. The steel hard line will still snap off at the caliper. If the line bolts straight to the caliper, the braided lines will be an upgrade, but again, it will still be prone to breaking off.

yeah i have the 2000 the rubber goes to the metal brake line, so i dont think there is much i can do besides maybe extend my lines and get the steel braded just for extra insurance.
