Small problem
Hey,
My friends and I were driving around last week when we noticed my right rear tail-light was burned out. The next night, I noticed it had turned back on. It stayed on for a day or two before turning back off. I went to the local autoparts store and got a new bulb and installed it. At first it was fine, but eventually the problem persisted. I checked all the wires and none were coming loose or anything. Anyone got any ideas? Im not a genious with cars yet and I dont wanna get a ticket for a burned out light. Thanks, Dave |
The only thing that comes to mind is dirty or rusty contacts in the bulb socket. You might try to clean the inside of the bulb socket. Try do do it with alcohol or some type of solvent first. Sandpaper is the last resort. The contacts are usually plated and will rust faster if you sand the plating off.
Good luck and let us know how you make out. |
Make sure the bulb is pushed in until you feel a solid click. The design of the sockets is such that the bulbs can work themselves loose on rare occasions. Just make sure to push the bulb in firmly.
Hope this helps. Dr. Z |
