should i paint bumper end myself or leave it to the pro's?
ok, last trip put i dented the pass rear bumper end pretty bad. i am thinking of painting a replacement panel myself but want to know what you guys think? i can get the piece for about 65 through northridge (evan) and all i have to do is find out if anyone has sprayed thier own body panel before with SUCCESS!
i have the millineum silver paint job and if anyone has painted anything that has been spot on that color, what did you use. also, how much do you think it will cost to have that piece profetionaly sprayed? EDIT: the replacement panel is black heres the damage http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...july-06010.jpg |
just leave it like that. chicks dig body damage:)

replacement piece is 65....paints not $335!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'd expect to pay at least $200 to paint that, if not more. For instance, I have an estimate to paint my licence plate surround at $225.

guy at dealer said his body shop will be 50 bucks or there about. AT THE STEALERSHIP!!!

Probably with some wood paint from Lowes... I suggest getting a bigger, better bumper.
|
was thinking of that also. time to search some rear bumpers now!
|
One thing to remeber is with paint jobs u get what u pay for, b/c if u get a cheapo paint job and they don't prep correctly, u could be repainted within a few years or so.
Find a good reputable paint shop around you. Ask ur friends, ask ppl at dealerships and autoshops. Yellowbook ftw. --Jared |
thats a price ($55) from the dealer ship, i have a couple pms out on people that have done the rear bumper upgrades. if they fall through....most likely aftermarketis where ill go!
|
You guy's go all out on your paint jobs. My Front bumper $100 Rear Bumper $100 Hood $100
Plate surround $15!!!!!!! :) Fireteacher - I say get it professionally painted. $55 isnt too bad, plus it'll match |
sounds good to me, i might score an entire bumper/ends/and flaps for 125 shiped and in great condition.
|

my rear ends are crunched and i wouldnt dream of putting more tinfoil back there. go aftermarket, then you can slam it into things and touch it up and keep going. |
