relay for aftermarket horns

Alright, sick of searching...

I got a freeway blaster horn and want to hook it up to a relay, but don't know which one to get. I want to stick with Bosch b/c that is what I used in my elocker wiring.

Uh, I suck at the internet right now, here is a site that has bosch relays with part numbers.

I don't know if I need SPST, SPDT, etc....

Thanks - be kind, it has been a long day.

Tom, I have a write-up in the Tech section on the Freeway Blaster horns.
I just used a standard 30 amp relay, same as the type for my three sets of off road lamps if that helps ya.

SPST (single-pole, single-throw) will work just fine. That is your basic on-off type of switch. Not that others can't be used in the same way but SPDT, DPST, DPDT are usually more expensive.

Thanks Corey and toy283. Sometimes I need things really spelled out for me... I did read your writeup Corey - another fine article as well! I actually have hella driving lights with a relay on my truck, but didn't know if it was SPST, SPDT, etc...

Thanks!

Hey tkrispen! Is that the performance products valence on the front end? or are the lights mounted on something else?

PM'ed you a day or two ago. Check out my website (in my sig) and look for my Hella Driving light writeup, the valence is in there. And it is the stock valence, just cut up.

When I installed two freeway blaster horns, I just used the existing wiring, with no relay, and they work just fine. In fact, it was a plug-and-play mod.

I'd love to put a horn on just like the one we have on my fire engine. Know that real loud, obnoxious horn?

i met a guy yesterday who put a train horn in the back of his pickup. It was soooo loud.
