Its possible they put the wrong springs on maybe 2wd versions if your starting to see the sag hmmm new questions.
Just be sure if you get it done you make sure they know you have a 4wd with 16" wheels also makes a difference I think since when I had my done they asked all the above questions before ordering my parts to do the work. Not sure if you can get any part numbers off the springs themselves.

Here are my thoughts on the matter. It was called a comfort recall when I took my truck in. They told me that it was most important to do on a 2 wheel drive but the dealer recommended that I get it done on my 4x4. Comfort meaning the ride was supposed to be less harsh on earlier year runners which is what the recall included.

The reality was that it was for safety reasons to try to keep the runners from flipping over in high speed cornering. Thus they put new springs in that were softer than the originals. I remember my truck being instantly more mushy feeling in the rear when I got this done. Then they put those huge cone stops on(which was standard on newer 3rd gens) to replace the older model bump stops. These hung much lower and are there to keep your runner from extreme swaying from side to side. Plus the lower ride height based on the new springs lowers the center of gravity. Personally I wish I never had it done.

This is just my opinions and ideas. Anyone with concrete evidence please chime in and correct me if i'm wrong. It doesn't matter to me because I'm going to change them out soon.

ok ok I might get shot here, but I must have missed this recall too, and I checked that alldata site too. Just couldn't figure it out. I am sleepy though....

will this recall affect my '00 sr5? if so, I am gonna try to talk them into putting in my OME coils instead!

I have a 1996 2wd 4runner that was called in for the recall. I never got the recall done because I lifed my truck which solved the problem. here is a perfect picture that illustrates the problem. As you can see from the picture, my truck had roughly 2-3" of upward travel. This made the ride very uncomfortable when the suspension fully compressed because you felt every bump. The bad ride was maginifed when i had passengers or any kind of a load in the cargo area because now i only had 1" of travel.
