Rear Wind Deflector

I have a Rear Wind Deflector on my 2000 4Runner. I also have a Yakama rack with a front deflector and other stuff up there. I notice driving in the snow, and we have had alot lately, that the rear deflector forces snow to buildup on the back glass. I thought that it was suspose to help keep the rear glass clear. I'm wondering if my rack combo if causing the build-up. Has any one tested to see if the rear deflector helps or hinders? We have more snow so if I get a chance I'm going to pull mine off to see.

I noticed the same thing last night when I drove around here. I dont have a Yakama rack, but i do have the rear wind deflector and it was causing alot of build up of water on the rear window.

Been snowing here too and the whole back of my rig is covered in snow, even the license plate is gone. I have the factory roof rack and rear wind deflecter thing.

The deflector throws air down so fumes don't come up and in the rear window if open. It does a GREAT :) job with that as I drive with the rear window open in the summer but but if it throws air down then it is throwing the snow down too, right on the glass. A down side but I still love the deflector and use the defrost to clear the snow in winter.

Prospector, copy that. I do drive with the rear window down alot. I would rather have the snow than the CO.
