Well I planned on keeping my pickup for a long time. Unfortunately, someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse... $3000. I have not yet sold, but I think I will. I paid $400 for the truck, around $1400 for the stereo equipment, nothing for the installation, in other words, a $1200 return. Not bad for that type of install. That would leave me with 3 grand to put into the 4Runner. I could fix all the *&#$ rust, lift it, and lock it for around that. I could even buy dual arbs and new 33s. I really do like my 4Runner better than the truck, so maybe I should sell it. I just got the title in the mail last week :eeek: and already I'm thinking about selling. The high gas mileage and low insurance (vs low gas mileage and high insurance) of the truck is nice, but the 4Runner rides nicer, it has 4wd, I know the history and original owner, it's v6 (it DOES have more power) and automatic (easier for me offroad) but it would be a sweet ride with dual lockers and some liftage. I wonder if I can get a better quote for the rust on the fenders...I'd bondo it but :barf: :barf: Plus I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of selling it, either. mmmm dual lockers...lift...33's...manual hubs...new springs (no sag!)..new bumpers...and I get to keep that massive sunroof. Well I'll think about how much that stuff is worth to me in long term costs...I'm a poor student now, this summer should be good to me, but I will be poor again in a year or two. But my insurance will go down a bit, gas will be cheaper, maybe I can get another 2-3mpg out of it...up to say...18 lol. I will have pics of my truck in 2 weeks when I get a digicam to document it for school. The stereo is :bigok:

I'd probably say sell it. Its a rare thing you can actually make money on a vehicle.
But, if you drive a lot of miles, it might be worth keeping, but only if the gas savings make up for the insurance cost. Get me?

Besides, you can only drive on at a time, right?

I saw go for it.. BTW, you can buy aftermarket new fenders for under $50. When it comes to rust, it is not worth fixing. The aftermarket fenders may not fit as well, but for $50 how can you go wrong?

Go for the cutout fiberglass fenders. I've never heard of a 4Runner having fenders rusting out. You must live in the land of salted roads.
