Question about Bilstein shocks.
 

I'm looking to get a set of Blisteins for the rear of my 00' runner. I currently have the LC coils and shocks. They might have 100 miles on them. The wife doesn't care for the rake so back to how it was before. Anyway, I'm looking for the model number for rear bilsteins that will work with the 2.5 inch spacer lift. The local Autozone has no clue which ones to order for me. Also they are 69.99ea. Is there a better place and cheaper place that anyone recommends? If anybody knows the part numbers it would be very helpfull. I'm going with the bils because I do tow a boat quite a bit and I figure those sound like a good shock to compensate for the weight I'll be dragging around. Yea I put all the LC stuff on. Now I'm taking it off and most likely putting back on the stock springs. I trashed the stock shocks taking them off, & I was wondering if the regular stock part number for Bilsteins will work with the spacer I'm using or is there a different number for lifted trucks?

Bump: Nobody has a part number? I guess I just use the stock size shock???

Contact Strap22 at http://www.trdparts4u.com/ he should be able to help you. I can tel you that I have my stock length Bilsteins on my 4runner with TRD springs in front and OME 890 in the back. These are the specs on OME springs: OME Info: "I am giving you the approximate lift heights, your exact amount of lift will vary slightly depending on the condition of your current springs. The front heights are respectively: 880=1.25", 881=1.75" & 882=2.25" and the rears are: 906=2.0", 890=2.75" & 891=3.0" . The 882's are not an ARB/ OME recommended fit, but our experience has shown that they work well with some applications. " (info given from 4X4 Connection) I actualy got 3.25" of lift from the 890s. That was because my springs were really sagging. When I was looking to do my lift I also looked at spacers. They do cost less. I was told that if your stock springs were sagging then spacers are just a band-aid and not a fix. I'm glad that I spent a little more and replaced all of the springs. Well worth the money!

Back to your question. Yes, my stock length Bilsteins are long enough with my lift (2.75", rear)

Front, Bilstein F4-BE5-2450-HO. Rear, Bilstein F4-BE5-2451-HO. (Yellow Body and Blue Boot)

call an off road shop. try www.offroadwarehouse.com they have a ton of shocks listed on their website. you might be able to find a part number. Or call bilstein directly. The bilstein warehouse is liek 20 minutes from me haha. I wish they sold shocks just you have to be a dealer to get shocks directly form them.

Thats all I needed was weather or not you can run the stock size for the 2.5 inches I'm spaced. I have the LC springs with the OEM LC shocks but the wife really doesn't like the rake. I have to say though. It tows the 18ft Four Winns friggen awesome! And the ride is smoother with this shock and spring combo.

If I were you I would spend a little more and get new springs. I would not use the old stock springs and spacers.

I've got the 95 LC coils and shocks on it right now. But I need to do something with the front to fix the rake issue. It's not that bad, but the wife doesn't really care for it.

That's what I have in the front right now is the stock springs with spacers, and we just want to even it back out.

Gerdo, I am interested too? From what I have found you can only use OME struts if you go with 880/881/882 up front....don't know if thats true? Would spacers be that bad up front?
