o/s off?????
The "o/s off" light came on my 98 4-runner. Does anyone know what that means? I am unable to find the manual.
You sure you dont mean "O/D"
If that is the case, you pressed the OD button on the left side of the Auto trans shifter. Never heard of O/S before. |
yes yes, I mean o/d you are right. okay, where is the auto trans shifter?
Are you kidding me?
no i am not, it's not acutally my truck, I know nothing about cars. I am just borrowing it and the light came on. I was scared I did something wrong. I just want to make the light go off.
okay, automatic transmission shifter, figured it out. is the button acutally on the shifter?
Ok, well I thought you were messing with me or something. :pat:
Yeah, its the overdrive button. You have disabled the overdrive, which is kinda of like a 4th gear. You will notice that the RPM's will be higher as you drive around town and especially on the freeway with the O/D light on. You did not hurt anything, but for the best economy push the button back in. |
thank you very much. I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!
