Problems with alignment, still...
My 'runner keeps pulling to the right, after several alignments, done at different garages (love my $99 lifetime alignment agreement). Before my last alignment, I was told my Idler Arm was bad, which was affecting toe. So, I replaced that, and had it re-aligned. The alingment printout shows everything to be in spec. It's a little better, but, it still pulls to the right.
I'm wondering if it could be a ball joint, and if so, does the lower one go bad more often than the top? BTW, it had 128K miles on it. Thanks. |
You should be able to test the ball joint. If you jack up the truck and pull on the wheel from top to bottom (the 12 o'clock and the 6 o'clock posistions)there should be virtually no play at all either way. If the wheel moves from top to bottom then you most likely have some sort of ball joint problem. This is coming form a non- mechanic, but I know that this is one way to see if the ball joints are bad.
Good luck.. hope it workd out for you Eric |
Cross rotate your front tires, and see if the pull is eliminated. If it fixes it, then you have a "tire pull". (aka Radial Force Variance).
