Pre-Body Lift Questions

I got my 2" 4crawler body lift in the mail this week and am PB-Blasting the bolts so I'll be ready to roll on Sunday or Monday!
I've got two main questions before I get started, just to clear things up.

1. I'm not 100% sure where to lift the body, so I was hoping somebody could post a few pics of where exactly they placed the jack on their 3rd gen. I was planning jacking to it up as pictured here
http://www.toyota-4runners.com/Jack.jpg , but I don't know exactly what the pinch-weld looks like and don't want to dent up the body lifting it incorrectly!

2. Also, I've got the 2" radiator drop brackets and haven't found any pictures or decent write ups of the install. I'm sure its not too difficult, but if anybody has any input or pictures, I'd really appreciate it!

Thats pretty much it, let me know if you guys have any other tips. I'll also be adding Stubbs sliders and some sort of new exhaust, so I'll be sure to put pics up in a few weeks!

I'm assuming you don't have running boards/sliders/nerf bars on your rig...

If you look under your truck, just as the body panel curves under, there is a lip in the sheet metal that sticks down towards the ground - that is the pinch weld. Take a 2x4 and position it like it is in the picture. use at least a 2' 2x4 to help distribute the weight. Push it right up against the pinch weld and jack the body up.

As for the radiator drop brackets - just FYI - you don't HAVE to drop the radiator, simply remove the lower portion of the shrowd that surrounds the fan - that will give you the clearance you need.

On a side note... I have sliders that are welded to my frame. They got in the way when I installed my body lift, so I put the 2x4 right on the pinch weld (i.e. the pinch weld supported the weight of the body) - it bent a little, but not much. If you're worried about dents when jacking up the body, try lifting by the pinch weld - if that bends, it's not a big deal.

the rad brackets only go in one way, it will make sense when you look at it, that part is cake. But have band-aids on-hand for your cut fingers

Besides PB Blaster, are there any other good tricks for getting the body mount bolts and bumper bolts off (tools, hammers, etc.)? I've got some rust on the undercarriage and I'm a little worried that those bolts are not gonna come off too easily.

air tools. That's what I used - no PB needed, and I live in the rust belt.

Got the body lift on, install went pretty well with the exception of two very rusted steering assembly bolts--had to cut those off. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out, and I've still got a few more mods on the way to hide the body lift a little more. Even though it was only a 2" lift, the 4runner looks and feels a lot bigger now, and the 285s don't rub anymore!
Still haven't really figured out the radiator brackets though, any help there would be great!

p.s. I didnt do the radiator bracket, left it in place with no ill effects. Temps have remained the same.

You don't need the bracket. You should have two stock holes that are about 2" lower than where your radiator bolts are... Just remove the bolts, move it down to the lower ones and use a smaller nut/bolt.

Check out that thread... I didn't even remove the entire radiator, did everything by myself with everything still intact...
