Power steering idler wheel.

I have a 97 4runner with a 5VZ engine I got from JDM engines. When the engine arrived, it had a different front end configuration for pulleys and such than the original. One thing that made it stand out was the belt to the alternator has 6 ribs instead of 4, and the alternator has a part number that tells me it is a 100 amp alternator. I decided this was a desirable thing to have, and cleaned up the front end and installed the entire assembly. It's been another 100,000 miles and the wheel that tensions the power steering belt is failing. However, this is a wheel, not a pulley like found on the original. (I still have the old parts) So the design is to tension by pushing on the back of the belt rather than pulling it out. The pulley style will not work as it rubs on the PS pulley. The real problem I am having is that I do not know what this engine came out of, and as such can't find a part number to order a replacement. I am looking for ideas as to what toyotas were made with the 3.4 5VZ to start scouring the parts list and find the one that has the configuration I need. Any help is appreciated.

If your engine is a JDM engine, then it came from a vehicle in Japan.

Understood. I still see images of JDM engines for sale with the configuration I have, and they claim them to be from T100 trucks. Still no luck with finding the part.

The JDM Toyota HiAce/Commuter/ReguisAce/HiClass H100 Van, pickup, Ambulance came with 10 different engine options, the 5VZ-FE was used in some and came with different pulleys/accessories, ALT, fan bracket, and PS Pump on the front end, most swap it out and go back to the 4 rib USDM belts and accessories and the 99+ 80AMP ALT, you can also buy upgraded ALT 140AMP or put on a smaller pulley so it charges better at idle. I've seen discussions about this JDM confusion before but I'm not familiar with all the differences, also heard the oil cooler is different/non-existant and or the oil filter is in a different location depending on what JDM package/year model you end up with, requiring oil filter relocation and the addition of the USDM oil cooler, I'm sure they stuffed this 5VZ work horse in many other models aswell.

Some of the idlers and tensioners Toyota uses have replaceable bearings. Have you examined yours???

Pulled the noisy wheel out today and discovered the bearing is not pressed in, but held in with a snap ring. Unlike the the grooved idle pulley on the US models which is pressed in then little knobs are stamped from the outside of the pulley to make some indents to hold it in place. Part number on the bearing is 6301V, a 12mm x 12mm x 37mm bearing. Just for grins I pulled the US model idler pulley out of the box of parts saved from the engine replace and found it to be the same bearing. I ground off the stamped indents that held it in the pulley, and pressed it out. Put the used bearing in the JDM model wheel and life is good again. Just for grins, the 6301V bearing is available on E-bay for about $8.
