Mark's Surf is a JAP import, and the setup might be different. On the 3 Litres, its a low oil pressure warning as you say.

My turbo cuts in @2500 and whistles pretty well.

I get 24mpg on long hauls and 18 mpg around town.

I have one "Turbocharger warning light" and that is above centre right in my tachometer.

Too quote the handbook:

Turbocharger Warning Light (diesel-powered vehicles)

This light warns that the boost pressure in the turbocharger system is abnormaly high.

If it comes on when driving, slow down until the light goes out, and have your vehicle checked by your Toyota dealer asap.

NOTICE:
Never drive at high speed or race the negine even after the light goes out.

Unquote.

Hope we can make sense of this sometime.
