Performance Products does it again!

I am working 7 days a week and do not have time for FU's. I have a business (road) trip coming up the first of March and am driving the 4Runner. I ordered the H&R minus 1" RED lowering springs from PP in plenty of time for the appointment that I was lucky enough to schedule with my mechanic this coming Thursday. The springs arrived Friday afternoon, they were scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday, and they are the wrong part. They are YELLOW, and that means that they are the plus 1" springs. Furthermore, the box they came in was torn to bits. I tried to call them but they work banker's hours and no one would be in until Monday. I am furious! :pop:
1) I expect them to send me the correct springs overnight so I can keep my appointment.
2) I expect them to issue a call tag and have UPS bring a box to repackage them. Since I did not win the Mega Millions lottery last week, anyone want to wager whether or not PP will care enough about service and accommodate my demands? I swear to God, the dumb-ing of America is full blown when the monkeys who pick and pack are not only illiterate but color blind to boot. :bang:

John,
That would be fantastic if it were true, but how can I tell? The salesman told me that the -1" springs were red. Is there a marking on the spring? I have not unwrapped them beyond what was necessary to determine the color. Please let me know ASAP because I am prepared to skin someone tomorrow. :pissed: :mad1: :mad2: :gijoe:

just an idea -- measure the height of your stock springs, and see if these are an inch less.

ManyMods 02-22-2004 02:18 PM

The problem I see with that is:
1) I would either have suspend the vehicle fully and hope the springs were fully released, or
2) remove the springs all together
3) The springs may have settled slightly already ... but I doubt it

A better idea would be if someone has the dimension of the OEM springs and I could measure the PP springs.

Okay, so maybe I made a total ass out of myself ... again :dunno: :chair:

I finally decided to unwrap one of the springs and there is a stock number stamped on it .... 109921 :bigok:

Well, that is the number on the invoice and that is the number in the catalog for the -1" springs, so ..... I may have egg on my face, but I have the right part after all and I have you guys to thank for lifting me up out of the dumb-ing of Peter. Thank you. :good: :pop:

One more thing, for the record ...

The 109921 coil-overs measure 13-3/8-13-1/2"

The 109921 rear coils mearsure 14-1/4"

Stock front coils are a very solid 14" unsprung, you have the low riders.

Thank you Steve. Do I need to worry about bottoming out with this 1" drop?
