P1126 “Magnetic Clutch Circuit” code with a CEL

Has anyone encountered a P1126 “Magnetic Clutch Circuit” code with a CEL light on?

I found this sheet, however it’s for Tacos throwing the P1126 code:
http://www.tankota.net/repair/Repair...fe/cip1126.pdf

Basically I was coming off an exit ramp doing approx 25 mph (the engine had been running for less then 10 minutes) when I lost all throttle/accelerator response. The engine never quit, however the 4Runner won’t go anywhere. I put the truck into neutral, coasted to the shoulder and turned off the engine. I waited about 5 seconds, restarted the truck and was able to resume “normal” travel with the return of my throttle response.

This is the third time I’ve lost throttle response in less then one (1) year while driving. Back in December, when this happened the first time, I ended up replacing the entire Throttle Body and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) which was an unexpected and expensive repair. By doing so I thought my problems would be solved. Apparently not.

Any input on what may be going on or possible fixes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ian,

Did you ever resolve this? I have an 02 4runner throwing the same code. I assumed after much research that I should replace the throttle body, so I did. This did not resolve the problem. I've checked all wiring and measurements check out. I'm beginning to think this is an ECU issue.

I have a 2001 4runner - Check engine and 2 vsc lights on, code P1126. Replaced throttle body twice (within 1 week), repaired short in electrical wire running to throttle body.. Check engine and 2 vsc lights re-appeared within 1.5 weeks of repairs. Anyone ever permanently resolve this?
