Oil Recomendation 2000 4Runner V6

I am looking for some suggestions on what motor oil to use in my 4Runner, I just bought it has 31K miles. I am not sure what oil has been used in it previously. I have been using Valvolie Durablend in my 2 Blazers with good results. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

A lot of us guys have been using Amsoil with really good results. I tend to prefer synthetcis. Mobil 1 is another good choice and easy to get.

You can read about Amsoil on Gadget's Website

Make sure to check out the rest of his site as well, it has quite a bit of info on the mods you can do to your 4Runner.

And welcome to the forums!!! :bigok:

Cheers :drink:

Without starting the debate of synthetics vs. conventional oil all over again, I'd suggest using the search feature and read some of the old threads on the subject. I personally use Mobil 1 and like it alot. The field seems to be evenly split between synthetic and dino oil, but everyone agress that as long as you change oil and filter at regular intervals and use a spec-meeting product, you shouldn't have any problems.

Good Luck!

I also use mobel 1 syn. on my 4Runner. Because I am running syn, i figure that I can get away with changing it every 4,000 miles

I'd either go Mobile 1 or Amsoil. Both are excellent synthetic oils. I use mobile 1 currently in my 4runner. I also ran it in my 5.0. Its good stuff :hillbill:
