Is this normal for a Tokico shock bushing? (pic)

I have an unexplained muted thump coming from the right front wheel area when going over bumps, and can't find anything that might be responsible. Except.... looking at the bushings on Tokico Trekmasters with 9k miles on them of on-road use, the bushings look kind of too pliable.
Does this look normal? https://www.yotatech.com/attachment....1&d=1227474193 |
looks like the strut is mounted a bit skewed. there might be some binding there, and itll cause the bushing to go out quicker. try straightening it out and see if it helps

FWIW - I have a similar noise caused by the lower shock bolt moving just a slight bit inside the mount hole, but is does no harm.

Does this look normal? The bushing is worn.... Most performance shops will be able to get new bushings for fairly cheap... Unfortunately, the shock has the warrantee ( how ever long that may be ) but the bushing is a wear and replace item.. https://www.yotatech.com/attachment....1&d=1227474193

Its a shock, not a strut. Its mounted at that angle to follow the direction of travel with the suspension... If it was a strut, it would be hard mounted to the spindle... |
The bushing is serviceable? Is this kind of a universal thing for shocks?
All that I've come across, including this one, it looks the bushing is glued in fairly well. |
Yo,
I have the same exact shocks...I can't tell from the picture if the bushing is all cheesed up? Is there any tech out there that can tell if this bushing is ok? THe bushing is actually part of/ built in the shock right? (ie. "non replaceable part") Also had the same thump, its not a cracked loose sway link is it? |
I've looked everything over, and everything looks solid when pulling-hitting-swaying it. Come to think of it, the thump someones happens over fairly smooth surface when turning.
It might be something crazy like steering rack loose, but I haven't heard complaints like that before. |

What a pain in the butt was tracking down this clunk! :bang:
Turns out it was not related to suspension at all. It was the coiled brake line coming off the ABS unit, and going down to the frame, then to the passenger front brake caliper. The flex in the frame/body caused the coil to rub against the pinch weld. https://www.yotatech.com/attachment....1&d=1227921769 |
