No start - ?
 

My 2001 cranks but will not start. I am replacing the original battery tomorrow. The iginition was left on (key not turned off) accidently for an hour or two the other day. Besides draining the battery can that damage any components ?

UPDATE *

Starting fine again now with the original battery. I think what caused my problem is that I had started the truck to move it forward just a foot or so in the garage. Total run time was just a second or two. Something in the cold start/air flow electrical system was....confused / out of sync. There was also an odd sound like a whine comming from the throttle body area.
After cranking it several times it stumbled a bit and finally started. Ran rough for a few seconds then evened out.
Lesson learned: never start then immediatly shut down these engines ?
